Riverfest announces 2019 headliner concerts

Organizers of the Wichita River Festival have announced the groups that will be performing live during the nine days of the festival from May 31st to June 8th.   Wichita Festivals, Inc. held an event at the WAVE venue in downtown Wichita on Wednesday to reveal the lineup of concerts.

Summit Media stations T95, 104.5 The Fox and Radio Lobo will co-host a concert by Los Angeles group Los Lobos on Saturday, June 1st.  It will be held on the Kennedy Plaza Stage outside Century II.   The concert will feature a mix of Tex-Mex, country, zydeco, folk, R&B, blues and traditional music.   Radio Lobo will host a Latin-flavored dance party, Viva Wichita!, on the RedGuard Stage with the group La Furia del Bravo and opening acts Lusio Molina y Sus Rivales and AYCCI Nortena.

KFDI will help host a giant country concert, sponsored in part by Star Lumber, on the Kennedy Plaza Stage outside Century II on the evening of June 2nd.

Other concerts during Riverfest will feature gospel singer Yolanda Adams, Heavy Metal Karaoke, Brooklyn-based recording artist Talib Kweli, and New York-based rock group Gogol Bordello.

Admission to all of the Riverfest concerts is free with a Riverfest button.   Early-bird discount sales for the buttons will be from April 5th to May 4th at Meineke Car Care Centers in Wichita, Derby and Hutchinson.   The early bird price will be $7 for adults and $3 for children.   Starting May 5th buttons will be available at QuikTrip locations for $10 for adults and $5 for children.
