Wichita man charged in fatal shooting outside a motel

A Wichita man has been charged with first degree felony murder in connection with a fatal shooting outside a south side motel.

31-year-old Christopher Kemmerly was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon by a felon, possession of stolen property and arson.   He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on March 7th, and his bond was set at $250,000

Kemmerly was arrested after the body of 34-year-old Justin Gaston was found Sunday evening outside the CitiHost Motel in the 4400 block of South Broadway.   Police said the two men were in a car and they got into an argument over a drug deal.   Gaston was shot one time and his body was found behind the motel.   The car turned out to be stolen and it was later found on fire.   After talking to the owner of the car, police caught up with Kemmerly and took him into custody.
