Police say a 15-year-old boy who was hurt in a “car surfing” accident in east Wichita has died from his injuries.
Samuel Harter was found in the street at 9th and Christine late on the morning of April 7th. Police found that Harter was on a skateboard and holding onto a passenger side window of a car that was leaving Edgemoor Park. Another 15-year-old was also on a skateboard and holding onto a driver’s side window, and he was able to let go and come to a safe stop. Harter lost control and fell, striking his head on the ground. He died Thursday at a hospital.
Investigators are working to determine if any charges will be filed. The 16-year-old driver of the car could face a citation.
