A man has pleaded guilty to federal charges in connection with a major gambling investigation in Wichita.

50-year-old Brock Wedman of St. Marys pleaded guilty to one count of concealing a felony.  He admitted setting up an illegal poker game in Wichita in 2014 and then tried to reveal an undercover officer who was attending the game as part of a gambling investigation.   Prosecutors said he had invited the officer to the game, not knowing that he was with the Wichita police department. Wedman became suspicious and took down the license plate number of the officer’s car and gave the information to a friend who was in the police department, asking him to confirm the undercover officer’s identity.

Wedman will be sentenced on August 1st.   Attorneys for both sides have agreed to recommend that he serve a year on federal probation.
