Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Vietnam veteran Robert “Johnny” Hays.  After high school, even though Robert had enrolled in college, he enlisted in the NAVY and was off to serve his country during the Vietnam War.  He became a part of the Navy’s Nuclear Power Program, he volunteered for submarine service and served and learned under Admiral Hyman Rickover, the “father of the nuclear Navy”.  This past Friday, Robert walked across the stage and received his long awaited Associates Degree from the University he left to serve his country.  To make the day extra special, he shared the stage with his Grandson Colby, who earned his degree in Hospitality Management and Tourism and Marketing.  Congratulations to both of you for your graduation and thank you Robert for your service.
