The intersection at 45th St N and N Hillside in Wichita is now open to traffic after about a year of construction.
Parts of the intersection had opened to traffic in specific directions before, but now all lanes of traffic are open.
The road has now been raised to be the same height as the nearby railroad crossing, so drivers won’t catch air when they approach 45th and Hillside anymore. Stoplights have replaced the four-way stopsigns, and turn lanes have been added.
The highway entrance and exit ramps between that area and Kansas Highway 254 are also open.
