30-year-old Kansas City man Colton Stock was charged with first-degree murder and three other felonies in the death of 35-year-old Matthew Calkins, of Gardner, Kansas. Stock is accused of shooting Calkins twice, dismembering his body with an electric saw, and then burning the remains. Police arrested Stock May 5 while responding to report of gunfire at a home where Calkins’ remains were found. Kansas City Police Sergeant Richard Sharp said investigators have not found all of Calkins’ remains. Sharp said Stock and Calkins had a “drug relationship.” No attorney is listed for Stock in online court records and bond has been set at $1 million cash only.
