Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors veteran Travis Pendergrass. Travis returned home from service in Iraq and like many brought with him the images and horrors of war. Images that haunted him and manifested in the form of PTSD. Travis said it was traumatic, going on to say every time he closed his eyes he would see the images that haunted him for years. That is until he found an outlet for these images, photography. A recent graduate of the School of Fine Arts, Travis has created an art exhibit of artifacts, art and photography that is finally helping him cope with his PTSD. Thank you Travis for your service and for sharing your gifts as an artist.
