The Wichita Police Department has received 200 gun cable locks from Project ChildSafe.
Project ChildSafe is a program of the National Shooting Sports Foundation to promote firearms safety and education. They also provide free gun cable locks to law enforcement agencies to distribute out in the community.
Since the project began 20 years ago, they have distributed 38 million locks. The gun cable locks are available at Wichita Police patrol substations while supplies last.
