The woman accused of dragging a Sedgwick County sheriff’s deputy has appeared in court to face a number of charges.
45-year-old Melissa Heinzman was arrested Tuesday night. She is charged with aggravated battery of of a law enforcement officer, failure to stop at an accident and other charges.
Heinzman was accused of dragging a deputy about 100 feet during a June 23rd traffic stop at 21st Street North and I-135. The deputy was not seriously hurt.
Bond was set at $250,000 and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 25th.
