Star Spangled Salute: A Veteran Flies From The Army to MLB

Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Kiera Connerty.  During her sophomore year at West Point, Kiera flew in her first helicopter and she was hooked.  She decided she wanted to work in the aviation sector of the military.  After graduation, she entered flight school and from there,  Kiera served for about 8 years, with 2 deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan flying the Black Hawk helicopter.  After her service, Kiera said she used her experience in the military and all it gave her, to transition to her current job as director of talent management in Major League Baseball.  She says she uses the tools the military gave her to launch and revamp performance, talent and engagement initiatives.  Congratulations on your successful career Kiera and thank you for your service.
