As a parent, you often try and find little hacks to make you life easier and one of those hacks that always come in handy is to try and get your baby to stop crying and calm down. For my son, Hudson, we would run either the vacuum or the Swiffer vac.
This parent though, found that if you run the hair drier while the baby is crying it will stop instantly. I also found the name of the hair drier to be ironic in this instance. Check it out.
