Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Sgt. Seth Craven and the woman he never met before who went above and beyond with her random act of kindness. Seth had flown from Afghanistan to Philadelphia on August 5th. He was heading home to Charleston, W. VA for his wife’s August 9th scheduled C-section that would bring their son into the world. His August 7th connecting flight was cancelled and so was the one on August 8th and there were no rental cars available. That’s when stranger Charlene Vickers stepped in. Charlene was leaving Philly and driving to Charleston for a work thing with some co-workers and and room for one more, she offered, Seth said yes. They said the 8-hour ride was pretty pleasant, they even called Charlene’s dad along the way who was a veteran. Thank you Seth for your service and thank you Charlene for your kindness.
