A man and woman are facing numerous charges after a brief chase in east Wichita in a stolen car.
Around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, officers spotted a black Nissan Altima that had been reported stolen around 2 a.m. Wednesday, being driven in the area of Harry and Bluffview Drive. They tried to pull the car over, but the driver sped off.
It led to a brief chase that was quickly called off due to speed. A short time later, police found the stolen car which had wrecked out at Harry and Lulu.
A 23-year-old woman and 28-year-old man who had been in the car were found nearby in the 1500 block of South Lulu and taken into custody.
The 23-year-old woman was arrested for felony evade and elude, traffic violations, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, and outstanding warrants. The 28-year-old man was arrested for auto theft, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and he also had an outstanding warrant through the Kansas Department of Corrections.
