Police Chief Gordon Ramsay announced Saturday that a 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing that occurred Monday morning near 17th and Doreen. The violent attack left a 28-year-old woman critically wounded.
Officers arrested Wade Dunn before midnight Friday. He is in Sedgwick County Jail facing charges of attempted first-degree murder and criminal possession of a firearm. He also had a federal warrant through the U.S. Marshals Service.

The case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office soon. Chief Ramsay says the victim is still in the hospital and her condition is improving.

Police say detectives received tips from citizens as well as anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers which led to Dunn’s arrest. He was arrested shortly before midnight Friday at a home in the 1000 block of South Main Street.
