NW High student killed in west wichita crash

The teen killed in a crash at Central and Socora is identified as 17-year-old Dominick Sublett. Two other teens in same car were hurt and they are all Northwest High students.

The accident was reported around 1 p.m. Monday on Central, east of Tyler. Wichita police say a man in an SUV was driving east and making a left hand turn to go north. A car being driven hit the SUV as it was making the turn. A 16-year-old male was driving the car and a female passenger was in the back seat. Sublett was in the front passenger seat of the car. All three teens were taken to a hospital, and the other teen’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police report the man in the SUV had minor injuries from the crash.

An investigation is ongoing and it’s not clear who had the right-of-way in this case. Investigators think the driver of the car the teens were in may have been traveling at a high speed.
