The Kansas Highway Patrol says four children under the age of 8 were killed Thanksgiving Day in an accident in Republic County.
The accident was reported around 11:30 a.m. north of 30 Road and U.S. Highway 36. A vehicle went off a roadway and into a pond. Officers found a man and an injured woman, and four children were dead at the scene. Names have not been released, but the victims are not believed to be Kansas residents.
The woman was taken to a Salina hospital, and troopers were interviewing the man found at the scene.
