One person is dead following a brief chase and crash in east Wichita.
It happened around 1 a.m. on Edgemoor between Kellogg and Douglas. An officer tried to stop the driver of a car in the area, but the driver took off.
A short time later, the driver crashed and rolled the car, which then caught on fire. EMS had to wait for firefighters to arrive and put out the flames before he could receive any aid.
They were pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect has not been identified.
