Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors World War II veteran Homer Bryant and the stranger who saved him. A few days ago when leaving the American Legion in his home town, Homer’s vehicle went off the road, somehow missing several trees, rolled down a hill and logged in a creek. Honking his horn, a young man with dark hair and glasses came along, Homer handed him his cell and told him to call 911. The stranger stayed with Homer to make sure he was safe until the fire department came along and then left. Homer spent Thanksgiving in the hospital recovering from a fractured neck and back, with his family by his side, wishing he could thank the good Samaritan. Thank you Homer for your service.
