The Kansas Highway Patrol says a Wichita man suffered a medical condition that led to a fatal crash near Emporia on December 26.
59-year-old Randy Davis reportedly suffered a seizure on the Turnpike, just south of the Highway 50 junction. This caused him to leave the roadway to the east, drive across a field, and hit a tree in a tree line. Davis was taken to a hospital and died from his injuries several hours later.
A 45-year-old woman in the car was also taken to a hospital for a serious injury.
There were no other cars involved in the crash.
