Star Spangled Salute: A Veteran Begins Operation Valentine

Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors 104-year old Marine Veteran Major Bill White. In World War II, Bill lead is Marines toward the front lines during the Battle of Iwo Jima before being injured by a grenade.  For his actions he received a Purple Heart. Bill still has a great spirit, spends time with friends and enjoys one of his favorite hobbies, scrap booking.  That’s why, for Valentine’s Day, Bill is hoping to receive Valentine’s Day cards from people all around the world.  Bill says he’ll save every single one of them.  Bill, thank you for your service and your spirit.
