A 15-year-old boy was taken into custody Tuesday morning after he brought a gun to Heights High School.
It began around 8:30 a.m. after staff at the school received an anonymous tip that the boy was armed with a handgun. District security and a school resource officer investigated and the teen was taken into custody.
The handgun was also recovered and secured. Police say at no time were threats made to any students or staff, or a threat to the safety of the campus, and no one hurt.
The teen was arrested on charges of criminal possession of a firearm by a juvenile and possession of a firearm on school grounds.
