Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors the Wichita non-profit “Passageways“. For about the last 6 year, Passageways has sheltered homeless Veterans and given them the resources they need. Founder and CEO Jennifer Garrison says Passageways is outgrowing its space and it’s time for the organization to grow. The new project is called Homefront Veteran Neighborhood and there are plans to develop it in South Wichita at 235 and Meridian. It’s designed with 30 cottages, half for single Veterans and half for Veterans with families. Passageways is asking the city for a $75,000 grant to help with the project, and is hopeful they will get the support they need.
