Today’s Star Spangled salute honor the 71 Veterans who recently competed in the National Veterans Creative Arts Competition in Oklahoma City. VA medical facilities across the nation have been using art with therapy as part of the rehabilitation process for both in and out patient treament. This competition is a representation of the progress being made by the Veterans and it gives them a  chance to show off their artistic expression.  The art pieces ranged from oil paintings and leatherwork to paint-by-number kids and sculptures. There was also performing arts such as dance, drama and music.  To all the Veteran artists thank you for sharing your gifts and thank you for your service.
