Police are investigating the death of a 34-year-old man at a north Wichita home, and it appears he died from a self-inflicted gunshot.
Officers were called to a home in the 2600 block of North Arkansas around 5:10 a.m. Monday. Police said in a press release that there were several people attending a party at the home, and the 34-year-old man went into the garage with a 38-year-old friend. The friend was showing a handgun, and the 34-year-old man took the gun and fired one shot, striking himself.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and police are continuing their investigation.
