Sedgwick County wants to hear from travelers who have been to areas affected by coronavirus

The Sedgwick County Health Department wants to hear from any travelers who have recently returned from a country that is currently under a travel advisory.

The Centers for Disease Control has issued travel advisories for China, South Korea, Japan, Italy and Iran because of the coronavirus.

People who have recently visited one of these countries are urged to call the county health department at 660-7300.  The health department will verify travel history and check for symptoms.  The traveler may be asked to remain at home for 14 days after they left the affected country.

No cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the Wichita area or in Kansas.

For general questions about the novel coronavirus, you can call United Way’s 211 line or check the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s web page at kdheks.gov/coronavirus
