Star Spangled Salute: A Disabled Veteran Shares His Artistic Gifts

Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors disabled Army Veteran Gary Scott.  Gary is very particular when it comes to finding just the right pieces of wood for his art.  He says it sometimes takes him 4 or 5 boards to find just the right 13 pieces he needs.  You see, Gary makes these amazing versions of the American flag out of wood, with intentional burn marks and then gives them to veterans of every branch and also to police and fire too.  He first donated his work to a Vietnam Veteran who was scammed by a contractor, thinking that no Veteran, especially a Vietnam Veteran, should experience something like that.  Gary’s youngest son is in the Air Force and his oldest is a police officer. Thank you Gary for sharing your gifts and thank you for your service.
