A Wichita man is charged with first degree murder for the shooting death of a teenage girl.
32-year-old Joshua Johnson appeared in court Monday on the murder charge and a charge of criminal discharge of a firearm. Attorneys will discuss the case on May 7th. Johnson is being held on a bond of $300,000.
Police said an argument led to an April 13th shooting near Pawnee and West Street. Shots were fired from a pickup into a car, and 18-year-old Aubrey Resendez died later at a hospital. She was in the car with her boyfriend and her brother, who were not hurt. They went to a convenience store in the 600 block of South West Street to report the shooting.
Johnson was arrested later in the week.
