Today’s Star Spangled salute honors 75-year old Vietnam Veteran James “Dean” Masters. James, spent the last 25 years watching over his block in Kansas City. He would show up at his neighbors’ doors with a van full of food to give away and often give strangers a place to stay in his spare bedroom. He recently welcomed a homeless woman into his home while she looked for more permanent housing, last Tuesday his home went up in flames. The woman was found alive, her body shielded by James, who died in the fire saving her life. Thank you James for your selfless act and thank you for your service.
