Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Marine hospital corpsman Dr. Cleavon Gilman. Before the Coronavirus, Cleavon was preparing for this front line while serving on another in the Marines in Iraq. In the Marines, Cleavon helped build a hospital and would take incoming casualties off the battlefield. We would give them blood, we would treat their amputations, and then we would fly them out to Baghdad”. Cleavon says serving in the ER during the Coronavirus for a lot of reasons is much worse. One of the biggest reasons is how many people are dying, calling the environment in the ER, chaos. Thank you Cleavon for fighting the pandemic and thank you for your service.
