Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors 88-year old Veteran Eugene Schopper, known as “Skip” by his friends. Skip is isolating at the Regency Senior Living Community in his home town and like many, that means he misses the connection with friends and neighbors. With activities and gatherings shut down, Skip decided to be a light and do something about it. So, every night at 6pm, Skip takes his American flag and walks the path of his community and makes the rounds to say hello. Neighbors say Skip is just nicest guy and they appreciate this nightly tradition. Skip says he is willing to keep up his flag tradition as long as he needs to in order to bring everyone together. Thank you Skip for your kindness and thank you for your service.
