Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Retired U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. Tim Chambers. This past Sunday, Tim walked out onto a concrete median in Washington D.C. and stood at attention for 24 hours. At the beginning of the first hour he held a salute for 22 minutes. Then every hour after that the salute time dropped by 1 minute. Tim did this, all in an effort to bring awareness to Veteran suicide, and this is not the first time he’s done this. His wife Lorraine says this time of year is very emotional for her husband and it’s something he needs to do every year and she supports him, no matter what. Thank you Tim for your commitment and thank you for your service.
