53-year-old David Leddy was fatally shot in east Wichita early Wednesday.

This was reported around 3:30 a.m. at a home in the 1200 block of N. Pinecrest, near 13th and Edgemoor.

Police say Leddy was involved in a fight with a 19-year old man, and that during that fight Leddy’s car was damaged and the 19-year-old was hit.

The 19-year-old left Leddy’s home, but came back later with his mom and three of her friends. Police another fight broke out and that’s when Leddy was shot outside his home. So far, police have not said who is believed to have shot Leddy, or what the group was fighting about.

Police say this was not a random incident.
