Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors 61-year old Army Veteran Kathleen Cashaw. Kathleen will be celebrating 2 things this summer, her 62nd birthday and graduating from college. When she was younger she did what neither of her parents had ever done and enrolled in college, however, the college dream for the family was over in a year because as Kathleen puts it, “I messed up”. So, she enlisted in the Army and joined the Army National Guard. Her father figured she would never go back to college but Kathleen proved “never say never’ and “if you want to succeed you will”, and this summer she will receive her Associates of Arts Degree as a medical assistant. Congratulations Kathleen and thank you for your service.
