Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Vietnam Veterans Wes Kouns and Mike Pedersen. One day the two met by chance and started up a conversation over a license plate that read “Veteran”. Turns out they were both Vietnam Veterans and that led to many more conversations, some about how Wes was getting pressured by his HOA to fix up his home. However, due to health issues and a fixed budget, Wes was struggling to meet the demands of the HOA. Mike, wanted to help so he gathered a bunch of volunteers from his church and $24,000 in repairs later, the repairs were done. Wes says he’s happy there is still a bit of kindness in the world. Thank you Mike and all the volunteers for that kindness and thank you Wes and Mike for your service.
