The Valley Center Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday that it has canceled its annual Fall Festival, which attracts around 30,000 visitors each year. The Festival has been an annual event since 1961.
The Chamber said in a statement that Ottaway Amusements, the company that provides carnival rides for the Festival, has canceled all of its events for the rest of the year. The company is planning to return for 2021.
The Chamber said Ottaway’s decision and uncertainties surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic led to the decision to cancel the 59th annual Festival, which was scheduled for September 25th and 26th. Chamber officials said after discussions with local officials, vendors and others, it was felt this was the right decision for the community.
