Three new COVID-19 clusters reported at Wichita care homes

Sedgwick County health officials are reporting three new clusters of coronavirus at adult care facilities in Wichita.

Homestead of Wichita at 12,221 West Maple has reported 18 cases, involving nine residents and nine staff members.  One resident has died.   The facility is reporting eight residents who have no symptoms, and they are in the memory care neighborhood.   All of the affected residents had tested positive on July 17th, and no additional residents have tested positive since.  No residents in the assisted living section have tested positive.

Reflection Living at 1377 North Iroquois has seven cases with five residents and two staff members who tested positive.   No deaths have been reported.  The facility says it has increased screening and no outside visitors are allowed, but family members are given alternatives to stay in touch with residents.

Platinum Care Home at 5701 East 17th has reported less than five cases and no deaths.  The facility plans to re-test residents and staff.
