AAC decision will postpone WSU women’s volleyball to next spring

The American Athletic Conference has announced it is moving competition and conference championships to next spring for women’s volleyball and men’s and women’s soccer.

The decision means that the Wichita State University women’s volleyball team will not be playing in the fall.  Their games will be played in the spring of 2021.

The decision follows a move by the NCAA Division 1 Board of Directors to move fall championships to the spring.    AAC commissioner Mike Aresco said in a news release that it would be in the best interest of the conference’s student-athletes to move to the spring, so they can compete for national championships.
