Wesley Medical Center To Begin Community Weight Management Program

Wesley Medical Center has teamed with dietitians with Sodexo’s Food and Nutrition Services to create the Core4 Weight Management Program for Adults with Diabetes.

The percentage of Americans designated as obese has risen from 19% to 34% among adults since 1980, and is linked to more than 60 chronic diseases, including Type 2 Diabetes.

The Core4 Program is open to the community, and will provide participants with knowledge and tools to successfully manage their weight. Local health experts will cover a wide range of topics including basic nutrition, diabetes management, body composition, behavior modification, and meal planning.

The program begins on September 29th; with 11 group sessions over 12 weeks. It will be held at Wesley Medical Center, and social distancing guidelines will be observed along with mask wearing.

The entry fee is $150 to cover materials and expenses. For more information or to sign up, visit www.wesleymc.com/calendar or call (316) 962-4344.
