A cold front moved through Kansas on Sunday, bringing strong winds that touched off a series of high wind warnings across the state.

Sedgwick, Butler and Greenwood counties were placed under high wind warnings through 6 a.m. Monday.   Reno, Harvey, Chase, Marion and McPherson counties were under high wind warnings through 4 a.m.  Wind gusts of 66 mph were reported at Eisenhower National Airport, while McConnell Air Force Base reported 64 mph winds.   Small trees and tree limbs were brought down in the Wichita area.

The winds kicked up dust that limited visibility across western, central and south central Kansas.  Interstate 70 was closed from Wakeeney to Russell because of blowing dust conditions.

A wildfire near the town of Nicodemus, in Graham County, forced some evacuations Sunday evening.  The fire was brought under control later in the evening.  The fire was blamed on high winds that knocked down power lines.
