Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Hollyanne Milley and the Veteran she saved. Hollyanne is the wife of Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley, and last week during the laying of the wreath ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery she saved a Veteran’s life. Standing with her husband, waiting for the President to arrive Hollyane heard a commotion and a man had collapsed. A nurse of over 30 years, she ran to help, After not finding signs of breathing or a pulse, she performed 2 cycles of CPR, saving the man’s life. Hollyannn said, “Then, he took a big spontaneous breath and a big groan on his own, and he started moving air. After a few breaths, he started coming around”. Hollyanne said the rescue was a team effort and encouraged others to learn CPR. Thank you Hollyanne for your quick thinking and to the Veteran she saved, THANK YOU for your service.
