Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Army Veteran Paul Laird. In and around his hometown in Maine, Paul was looking for a way to help his fellow servicemen and women. So, he relied on his skills as a handyman to do it. Paul says, “Over the last few years, I’ve been really thinking about different ways of being able to give back to other veterans and try to help out with other veterans’ needs in a way that I could”. Paul has a successful HVAC business and he provides his services free of cost and he calls it the Veterans Home Improvement Project. All the materials are donated and he sets aside $100 from each paid job to fund these projects. All of this, Paul says, helped him find his purpose when he returned home from service.
