Star Spangled Salute: A Veteran Gets A New Home

Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Army Veteran Adam Poppenhouse.  It was just over 14 years ago that an IED in Iraq, changed Adam’s life.  3 years into his service, he and his crew were rescuing a downed pilot when the blast hit his vehicle and took his legs.  While he lived relatively pain free, his new normal was 2 prosthetic legs.   Yes, he had an active lifestyle but there were still limitations that didn’t always allow him to help his wife as much around the house with their kids.  Now, Adam and his family have just been gifted a special, wheel chair accessible home, thanks to the nonprofit Homes For Our Troops.  Adam says this gift will allow him to be more involved with his children, and help alleviate some of that burden from his wife.   Enjoy your new home Adam and THANK YOU for your service.
