The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday a recruit deputy was arrested by Wichita police after a report of a disturbance.
Officers were called to an active disturbance in east Wichita on January 23rd, and a recruit deputy was booked for interference with law enforcement. The deputy has been employed by the Sheriff’s Office for about four months.
The deputy is accused of concealing, destroying or altering evidence with the intent to prevent or hinder the apprehension or prosecution of any person. The Professional Standards Unit of the Sheriff’s Office is conducting its own investigation, and the deputy has been placed on administrative leave.
