Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Army Veteran Daniel Howard, known to many in his area as “Dan Dan the Driving Man”. From 1984 to 1988 Dan was a rappel master with the 7th Infantry 3rd Brigade. In the Army he served in an air assault Blackhawk unit. Dan says the Army taught him many things about brotherhood and service and back in his civilian life he used it to be a helper. Over the last 20+ years Dan had been connecting with and offering free rides to Veterans and the homeless to get them where they need to go. In his electric vehicle he contracts for a RideShare company in his area but he has donated over 200,000 miles to help those in need. Recently, he received $500 from a local law firm as a small thank you for what he does. Thank you Dan for being a giver and THANK YOU for your service.
