Wichita Art Museum Opens New Exhibit Highlighting African American Art Through The 20th Century

African American Art in the 20th Century: Harlem Renaissance, Civil Rights Era, and Beyond,” an exhibition organized by the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. is coming to the Wichita Art Museum.

The exhibit is the result of a partnership between WAM, the Kansas African American Museum, and the Ulrich Museum of Art at Wichita State–all of which will will be displaying coordinated exhibitions and programs as well.

It highlights pioneering artists from these pivotal time periods, providing a comprehensive view of the African American experience.

The exhibit opens on February 6th and will be on display through May 23rd, with free admission is free on the weekends. Weekend gallery hours are 10am to 5pm on Saturday, and 12pm to 5pm on Sundays.
