Star Spangled Salute: Honors The Story of the Tuskegee Airmen

Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors the 16,000 men and women who became pilots, mechanics and support airmen known as the “Tuskegee Airmen“.  During Black History Month and in honor of the 99th Pursuit Squadron, also known as the Tuskegee Experiment, the Air Force has produced a 3-part series about the history of an experiment that was a first of it’s kind.  “Red Tail Angels” tells the story of the training program that opened the way for Black citizens to serve their country during a time when there was a pilot shortage.  To all the Tuskegee Airman, THANK YOU for your service.
