A Wichita man has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run incident Monday that killed a 4-year-old boy.
36-year-old Marcus Downey appeared in Sedgwick County District Court Tuesday afternoon and was charged with fleeing an accident scene and a misdemeanor charge of driving with a suspended license.
Police said Downey was driving a pickup that struck a boy at Waterman and Washington around 10 a.m. Monday. The boy was crossing the street with his mother. Police found Downey about 100 yards from the accident scene.
Bond was set at $75,000 and Downey is scheduled for his next court appearance on March 25th.
