An unidentified man was taken to a hospital Thursday afternoon after a brief chase with Newton police that ended with a crash.
Police said a vehicle was stopped for speeding in a school zone around 3 p.m. near Northridge Elementary School. The driver sped away and led officers on a chase, but then he lost control and rolled his vehicle into a tree near 11th and Plum. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital and there was no word on his condition.
Police are still investigating.
