Kansas Dept. of Labor Urging Participation in the My Reemployment Plan Program

Kansas Legislature passed a bill on May 13th that included an enhanced My Reemployment Plan (MRP) designed to help unemployed residents re-enter the workforce.

Claimants who do not participate in the program are now at risk of having their unemployment benefits suspended under the new state law. The Kansas Department of Labor is encouraging individuals who received notice of their participation in the program to complete the requirements immediately in order to prevent disruption in their weekly benefits.

The program began on June 1st and requires claimants who have received 3 continuous weeks of unemployment to complete the following actions:

  • Upload/build a resume at KansasCommerce.gov or provide work history
  • Complete the online job search (including the O*Net Interest Profiler)
  • Complete the Job Search Plan and email the completed form to the Kansas Dept. of Commerce at MRP@ks.gov

Failure to complete all items within 7 days of receiving instructions from the Dept. of Commerce may result in denial of unemployment insurance benefits.
